Lenz 1964 Map of Physical Terrain (Using Stippling technique) - Physiographic * digital license $100 and up
This is Russell H. Lenz's 1964 Map of Physical Terrain (Using his classic Stippling technique). - Physiographic map of two hemispheres based on an azimuthal equal area projection.
It is a B&W image showing mountain ranges with inserts for the longest rivers and highest mountains in each hemisphere. It also includes a "pie chart" of area at the bottom, dividing the earth up into its four major oceans, other seas, arable land and land under tree crops, permanent meadows and pastures, Greenland and Antarctica, and All Other Land.
The art work & lettering are done in the classic "Lenz" style, with pen and ink -- using Lenz's classic stippling style. It is one of a series of 10 maps created for World Eagle publishing in 1964, and the image was also later published in the Christian Science Monitor.
