Arno Peters: Radical Map, Remarkable Man is a fascinating short documentary exploring the history of how the Peters Equal Area World Map came into being. The film includes scenes from the WEST WING TV show that featured the Peters map as well as cartographic critiques that show the tension and conflict that the Peters map generated amongst the cartographic establishment. The film contains the only English-language interviews ever conducted with Arno Peters. Dr. Peters died in 2002, fifteen months after these interviews were filmed. The Peters World Map was a radical map, and as this film shows, Arno Peters was truly a remarkable man. His impact will be felt for generations to come. Includes 30-minute film and a ton of Bonus Features: PowerPoints, out-takes, print materials (in WORD and pdf form), MP3 Audio files exploring how maps impact our perceptions of environmental issues, plus lesson plans & web links for teachers and students to learn much more.

This version is packaged in a plastic snap DVD case and includes permission for organizations, institutions and NGOs to screen the film in public or for the classroom at one location in perpetuity, as well as reproduction rights for the PowerPoints and other bonus features.
