Waterman Butterfly V-1 - 28.5x38 - Paper rolled map
This unusual and visually beautiful wall was meticulously prepared by the late, self-taught, nuclear physicist, Steve Waterman of Montreal, Quebec. It is a 14-sided polyhedral projection addressing both distortion and partitioning of land masses. The butterfly layout combines legibility and low distortion. This ia an almost-equal-area version wall map (1996).
This map is only available from ODT as a paper rolled map
There is the original 1996 Version and a revised equal area version that Waterman created in 2012. The latest edition is plastic gift tubed and comes with an explanation pamphlet.
